Baicalein (BA) has pharmacological effects such as antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antitumor, anti-dimensional, anti allergic, antioxidant and free radical scavenging. However, the solubility of baicalein in water is very poor and its bioavailability is low; The existence of ortho phenolic hydroxyl group in molecular structure makes it easy to be oxidized and unstable, which limits the clinical application of baicalein to a great extent.

The molecular structure of cyclodextrin is a hollow cylinder with wide at the top and narrow at the bottom. The interior of the cavity is relatively hydrophobic, while all hydroxyl groups are outside the molecule. The inclusion complex formed by cyclodextrin with drugs, organic molecules, inorganic ions and even inert gases can greatly increase the water solubility of insoluble drugs, increase the stability of drugs, improve the bioavailability of drugs and reduce the toxic and side effects of drugs. β- Cyclodextrin and its derivatives on Ba has the problems of low entrapment efficiency and drug loading. Considering the factors affecting the inclusion effect (the structure and properties of guest molecules, the structure and properties of host molecules, the proportion of host and guest molecules, etc.), it is speculated that it is due to the small inner diameter of its cavity that Ba cannot be completely encapsulated. Hydroxypropyl gamma cyclodextrin is a kind of cyclodextrin derivatives with high water solubility and large cavity inner diameter. As an inclusion carrier, it is widely used in the field of pharmacy. Hydroxypropyl gamma cyclodextrin was selected as the inclusion material to prepare Ba inclusion complex with high yield, entrapment efficiency and drug loading rate, so as to provide a good intermediate carrier for the further application of baicalein.
