Cyclodextrins (CDS), also known as cyclodextrins, were discovered by Villiers in 1891. Cyclodextrin is a water-soluble, non reducing, white crystalline or amorphous powder that is not easy to be hydrolyzed by acid. It is non-toxic, edible and porous. It is made of starch degraded by cyclodextrin glucosyltransferase (CGT). It contains 6 ~ 8 or more glucose units and passes through each other α- 1. A class of cyclic oligosaccharides connected by glycosidic bonds.

Modified cyclodextrin, also known as cyclodextrin derivatives, refers to the introduction of modifying groups under the condition that the basic skeleton of cyclodextrin macrocycle remains unchanged to obtain products with different properties or functions, which have better characteristics than cyclodextrin and can solve many technical problems. Modified cyclodextrins, especially methyl and hydroxypropyl modified cyclodextrins, have good water solubility, low toxicity, relatively low price and wide application. The modification of natural cyclodextrin has high theoretical research and application value.

Based on the research of the beta cyclodextrin polymers, different amount of beta CD crosslinking polymer on of phenol and benzene in waste water, as the amount of beta - CD crosslinked polymer increases, the absorbance of simulated wastewater decreased gradually, as add beta CD with the increase of the amount of crosslinking polymer and of the phenol increased gradually. With the increase of the amount of β -Cd crosslinked polymer, the absorbance of simulated wastewater increases gradually, indicating that with the increase of the amount of β -Cd crosslinked polymer, the inclusion of benzene with special structure will be affected to a certain extent. The inclusion effect of phenol increased by 1.93~3.16 times with the increase of the amount of β -cyclodextrin crosslinked polymer. The improvement of inclusion efficiency was mainly caused by inclusion of β -cyclodextrin crosslinked polymer with phenol. Moreover, the inclusion of β -cyclodextrin crosslinked polymer with phenol is very easy and easy to be used in practical life, which is of great significance to reduce the content and toxicity of phenol in wastewater.
